Chris Sawtelle, Head Boxing Instructor
Coach Chris fell in love with the sweet science at 13 years old. He has won regional and multiple state boxing championships in Florida. He won the Southeast regional title in 1995. In 1997 he won the Virginia state golden gloves.Coach Chris has had the honor of boxing several outstanding fighters such as Antonio Tarver and current cruiserweight champ, Steve Cunningham. Chris created Young Guns Boxing Academy because he wanted to provide a training space for the community. A space that was professional and helped members reach their goals. Whether it's weight loss or starting a professional boxing or MMA career, Chris and the academy are here to help.

To me, boxing is not just a sport. It is a way to explore life and yourself. It instills valuable characteristics like honor, work ethic, respect and discipline. These qualities are not only used in the ring, they are used in life. I consider it a privilege to share my experience and knowledge with my community.
